Safety
Panama has received the highest category rating for tourist safety from the world-renowned Pinkerton Intelligence Agency. Government stability has characterized the country for decades. The local population sees tourists and foreign investors as friendly developers of the local economy. Crime rates are lower than any other country in South and Central America, some call Panama “America’s Switzerland”.
Weather
Hurricanes or major earthquakes do not directly impact Panama, unlike its neighbors. Additionally, Panama has several different climates ranging from the cool highlands to warm beautiful beaches in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, plus the tropical rainforest. Temperature is typically warm in the lowlands throughout the year with highs of 90°F and lows of 72°F. Mountain temperatures are much cooler and precipitation is normally heavier on the Caribbean side of the country with much lower amounts of precipitation on the Pacific coast, where Playa Blanca is located.
